Harpreet Brar received praise from Punjab Kings’ spin-bowling coach, Sunil Joshi, after his match-winning performance against Rajasthan Royals on Sunday, May 18. Joshi complimented the wicket-taking ability of the left-arm spinner.
He also lauded how Harpreet Brar has made use of every opportunity coming his way.
“I think he has been very consistent. Last year, he also bowled really well. Whenever he has received the opportunity, he has performed. And today as well, he made a big difference for the Punjab Kings. Our plan was to get Brar and take wickets when the opposition was forming a partnership, and he did that,” shared Joshi during the post-match presentation, as quoted by The Times of India.
For himself, he aspires to do the best: Shreyas Iyer
Joshi and Shreyas Iyer both praised Brar’s economical use of the ball. He cited his drive for achievement as one of the reasons Brar was successful before praising his team’s strategy.
“In the nets, Brar has been reliable. He wants the best for himself, and he was eager for this chance. I think he stepped up today and gave it his all; congrats! His attitude has been amazing the entire time. Iyer said, “It was the perfect time for us to come in together and show the kind of mindset to win irrespective of the situation. The boys were in high spirits and we also needed a rest after the break. It was an absolutely brilliant approach and attitude coming in after the break.”
The game against RR was the third time Brar was being brought on as an Impact Player by PBKS this season. His dismissals of the opposition’s opening batters were crucial in applying the brakes on the rate at which RR were cruising along at one point. The 10-run win was PBKS’s eighth in IPL 2025. They will take on the Delhi Capitals in Jaipur on Saturday, May 24.
