After losing to the Mumbai Indians (MI) by a lacklustre 59 runs at the Wankhede Stadium on May 22, the Delhi Capitals (DC) were eliminated from the 2025 Indian Premier League. Co-owner of DC Parth Jindal pondered on his team’s season and voiced his unhappiness.

In light of the team’s decline from being the season’s early favourites to missing out on the playoffs, Jindal expressed regret to the supporters. “The team will focus on their last league game and the positives from this year,” Jindal said in closing.

I apologise to every supporter of the DC

I’m in shock from the season’s second half, just like you. What had begun so nicely turned out so badly. Although this season has its advantages, we must concentrate on winning the next game for the time being. After the season, Jindal wrote on X (previously Twitter) that “a lot of introspection on a lot of aspects will need to be done.”

Sorry to all @DelhiCapitals fans – like you i too am reeling from the second half of the season. What started so well ended extremely poorly. There are positives to take from this campaign but for now all focus on the next game which we need to win. Post the season there will…

Speaking of Delhi Capitals’ campaign, they are currently fifth on the points table with six wins and losses each and one no-result in 13 games. Their upcoming game against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on May 24 will be their final encounter this season and the Axar Patel-led team will aim to end the season on a high.
