MSCMR’s innings, which was chasing 158, was led by Sutar, who scored 53 off 49 runs to finish the chase. He was aided by Awais Khan Naushad’s 38 off 24 as the chasing team triumphed by five wickets with four balls remaining. Rohit presented the prize to the players in the post-match briefing.
After the contest, Iyer spoke and reflected on his stressful recent few weeks. He praised the supporters for coming to the game and blamed no one for his team’s defeat. While he was disappointed by the setback, Iyer assured that the Falcons will rebound strong the next season after learning from their mistakes.
“It’s quite hectic (two finals in ten days). It is especially prevalent in your thoughts when you lose. It was amazing to see how many people showed up. The entire stadium was electric. Thank you very much for attending and supporting the fans. I don’t want to focus on any single incident. “It’s just a one-time game where you can’t pin down who did what; it’s basically backstabbing, which I don’t like,” Iyer explained.
“We’ve learnt a lot.” It is quite common to feel depressed after losing the final. They must have been hurt. They will return next year with renewed desire and confidence. They should be proud of their accomplishments. They came in with little experience, and playing in front of 20,000 people is not easy. I’ve been there and done it. When nerves get into you, you tend to make mistakes, but it teaches you a lot and you come back stronger,” Iyer said.
