Prior to the five-match Test series against England, India and India A competed in a friendly four-day intra-squad encounter in Beckenham, which began on Friday, June 13.

Shubman Gill headed India, with Ruturaj Gaikwad leading India A.

According to a BCCI update at the end of the day’s play, KL Rahul and Gill had fifties, while Shardul Thakur had taken wickets. According to sources, Shardul took four wickets.

There were no media outlets or spectators at the location because the match was taking place behind closed doors. As a result, the public does not have access to an official scorecard.

Other batsmen were Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Speaking at the conclusion of Day 1, fast bowler Prasidh Krishna stated, “I believe it is critical for all of us to get this game time.” Some of us are returning from the A game [against. England Lions]. Getting some time on your feet is crucial, and that’s what’s happening on today. It seems like a good, hard pitch.

“Bowlers have played the entire game. I have been bowling well all along. Batsmen have also displayed character. It’s always beneficial to compete against others. We are all quite excited and appreciating what is going on. We are all experienced enough to know when to switch on and off.”

Day two is also scheduled to begin at 3.30 PM IST. To honour the souls lost in the Ahmedabad plane tragedy, the players donned black armbands and held a minute’s silence before Day 1. Head coach Gautam Gambhir, on the other hand, was unable to attend the match since he had flown home to care for his ailing mother.
