Faf du Plessis is only a month away from turning 41, but he is as nimble as any player in world cricket. He demonstrated this even more when he took a one-handed stunner while diving to his right in the Texas Super Kings’ (TSK) first Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025 match against MI New York (MINY) in Oakland on June 14 (Saturday).

Michael Bracewell attempted to beat Faf du Plessis at mid-off and smacked the ball fairly well.

However, the TSK captain reacted quickly and dove full stretch to make an outstanding catch. It was also a critical catch, as Bracewell had put on 97 runs off 48 deliveries for the fourth wicket, bringing MINY back into the game after being relegated to 24/3 in the sixth over.

MINY needed 65 from the last 40 balls following Bracewell’s expulsion, but they finished three runs short. Daryl Mitchell kept his cool and defended eight runs in the last over to enable his team get off the ground in the competition.

TSK will seek to make it two wins in a row when they face the Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR) in Oakland on Monday, June 16.
