R Ashwin, a former Indian cricketer, became irritated after being declared LBW in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2025 match between Dindigul Dragons and IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans on June 8.
Sai Kishore ejected the Dindigul Dragons skipper after he argued with the on-field umpire. The debate stemmed from Ashwin’s perception that the ball was pitched well outside the leg stump. As he headed back to the pavilion after scoring 18, Ashwin was spotted striking his pads with the bat in frustration. Notably, Dindigul Dragons lost two reviews in the opening over while checking the wide deliveries.
“Ashwin is saying ‘he has bowled this from over the stumps, ma’am,’ arguing his case that it was pitched well outside leg stump,” an airborne commentator stated.

Dindigul Dragons laboured throughout their innings, scoring just 93 runs. Shivam Singh led the way with 30 runs, while RK Jayant held his own with 18. The rest of the batting order struggled, with most players posting single-digit scores.
A. Esakkimuthu grabbed four wickets for 26 runs in a four-over spell for IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans. M. Mathivannan took three wickets, while skipper Sai Kishore provided two.
IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans were chasing a low score of 94 when they lost opener Amit Sathvik early for 13. However, Tushar Raheja and Radhakrishnan anchored the batting with a solid second-wicket partnership of 75 runs in 52 balls. Raheja led the chase with a spectacular 64 off 39 balls, including six fours and five sixes.
Ganesh Periyaswamy was Dindigul Dragons’ only wicket-taker, finishing with 1 for 13 in three overs.
Following the victory, IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans moved up to second place in the points table, while Dindigul Dragons dropped to fifth after a dismal performance.
