The Delhi-based IPL franchise Delhi Capitals (DC) has decided to implement a strict code of conduct for its players after a player was allegedly inappropriate with a woman at a franchise celebration.
After the franchise’s victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 24, there is speculation that the incident took place during a celebration. The administration took note of the situation and enacted regulations requiring visitors to obtain permission before entering player quarters.
Delhi Capitals has taken the necessary steps to avoid a similar situation in the future. According to the code of conduct, participants are no longer permitted to bring guests after 10 p.m., and any violation of the aforementioned code will result in either contract termination or a fine.
It is important to note that players and support personnel are permitted to travel with their wives or girlfriends. However, as is customary, players and support personnel are responsible for their partners’ travel expenses. In addition, the players are required to notify franchise authorities before a new member joins the team.
Any violation of the code may result in a sanction or even contract termination.
“After 10 p.m., players may no longer invite guests to their rooms; if they wish to entertain their guests, they must do so in the hotel’s restaurant or coffee shop.” When the players desire to leave their hotel to meet someone, they must also inform franchise officials. According to the Indian Express’s report on the Code of Conduct, any violation could result in a penalty or even contract termination.
David Warner and company have won their last two IPL 2023 matches after suffering five consecutive defeats to begin the season. After dominating their previous match against the Sunrisers on April 24 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, the two teams will meet again on April 29. DC will attempt to maintain their winning streak and momentum in the Premier League.
