There is already a lot of planning going on for the forthcoming match between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Punjab Kings (PBKS), which will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Mumbai all-rounder Tanush Kotian, a well-known figure on the domestic circuit, has been invited by the Punjab Kings. The 26-year-old, who has been putting up steady performances in domestic cricket, is a good off-spinner and a useful hitter down the order. Recently, the young cricket player joined the team as a net bowler in preparation for the match against the reigning champs. Praveen Dubey, Harpreet Brar, and Yuzvendra Chahal are already a number of spinners for the Kings. In addition to helping the club counter the Knight Riders’ elite spin attack, Kotian’s off-spinners will increase the variety of their needs.
There are a number of reasons why Kotian has made the team, including the fact that certain prominent Mumbai players, such as Shreyas Iyer and Musheer Khan, are part of the PBKS team and have played a lot of cricket with Kotian this season. This is a fantastic chance for Kotian, who, regrettably, did not sell at the IPL 2025 mega auction in spite of his impressive domestic exploits. In addition to playing for the Rajasthan Royals, the all-rounder was a member of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024–25 team.
Tanush Kotian record at home
Speaking of Kotian’s domestic cricket career, he has participated in 21 List-A games and 37 First-Class matches. He has claimed 22 wickets in 50-over cricket and 112 wickets in the red-ball format. In the previous Ranji season, he grabbed 23 wickets and amassed over 300 runs.
With an economy of just 6.39 and 33 wickets at an average of 20.03, he also has a respectable record in T20 cricket. Kotian has undoubtedly had a successful career thus far, and some will be hopeful that he will play in the world’s largest T20 franchise event.
