Following a heartbreaking loss in the IPL 2025 Final, Shreyas Iyer told up about leading Sobo Mumbai Falcons to the Mumbai T20 League Playoffs 2025. The star player has helped his team advance to the Playoffs in the ongoing event, which includes some of the best players in the world like as Prithvi Shaw, Suryakumar Yadav, and many others.

As Sobo Mumbai Falcons advanced to the playoffs, Iyer was questioned about his role as captain in general. The 30-year-old stated that captaincy is about maturity and responsibility. He believed that as the team’s representative, a captain is always expected to perform. Iyer was up for the assignment, noting that he had been guiding sides since the age of 22.

“Captaincy requires a great deal of maturity and responsibility. You are constantly expected to perform and contribute to the best of your ability for the team because whenever there is a challenge or difficulty that the team faces, they always turn to the captain for assistance. I think I have a lot of experience because I’ve been captaining since I was 22. I have both appreciated and embraced these moments.

“I love the fact that I can come out and lead,” Shreyas Iyer told T20 Mumbai League.

The PBK skipper was later questioned on how to handle difficult situations. He claimed to get into his zone and perform the tasks in front of him. The outstanding batter felt compelled to remain focused and face obstacles.

“I just try to get into my zone and do the things that are in front of me.” I try to stay focused as much as possible, simply to be in the moment, love the circumstance, and welcome the crowd because they can be electrifying and transfer their energy to you. So I keep reminding myself that I want the fans to applaud my name, and that gives me inspiration,” Iyer explained.
