At Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, the Gujarat Titans (GT), IPL 2025 the 2022 champions, will play the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). After winning the toss, Pat Cummins, the captain of SRH, decided to bowl first.
From the opening over, GT’s top order began to wreak havoc. Sai Sudharsan, who bats left, started things off aggressively by hitting four boundaries off Mohammed Shami’s over. The player, who was born in Tamil Nadu, hit nine fours and scored 48 runs off just 23 deliveries.
Shubman Gill, the GT captain, on the other hand, started off as the anchor before stepping up. With just 41 balls, the opening duo put created a partnership of 87 runs. Gill joined England’s Jos Buttler on the crease following Sudharsan’s dismissal, and the two maintained their attack with yet another strong partnership.
Following a misunderstanding that caused some disagreement between him and the umpires, the Indian batsman was ultimately run out. After scoring a magnificent 76 off 38 balls, which featured two sixes and ten boundaries, he walked back. The former England captain led GT to a dominant score of 224 in 20 overs by closing with 64 off 37 balls in the later portion of the innings.
In the last over, Jaydev Unadkat took three wickets for SRH. Zeeshan Ansari and the SRH captain each contributed one wicket.
GT will try to win the game in front of their home fans and move closer to a postseason berth, while SRH needs to win this game to remain in the running.
