The well-known sports broadcaster Zainab Abbas, who resides in Pakistan, sparked debate when old social media posts she had made with anti-India and anti-Hindu sentiments surfaced. It is noteworthy that Abbas was in India to collaborate with the media community engaged in the present ODI World Cup 2023. Nevertheless, there are rumors circulating that the journalist has safely left India and is currently in Dubai as a result of an Indian lawyer reporting her for some offensive tweets.
A complaint was made to the Indian cricket governing body, which is also hosting the current ODI World Cup, by an attorney residing in India named Vineet Jindal. Additionally, Jindal posted screenshots of Zainab Abbas’ posts on his ‘X’ account along with a complaint on his handle accusing her of defaming the nation and the Hindu religion.

Notably, despite the chilly relations between the two nations, Abbas appeared to be quite eager to experience India and its culture before traveling there. Additionally, she wanted to stay until the ODI World Cup 2023 was over, which would be at least six weeks.
More cultural commonalities than differences, there has always been a fascination with what lies on the other side: Zainab Abbas
Regarding the approaching possibility to work in India, Zainab Abbas posted about it on her social media. She also discussed how Pakistan and India have shared a love of art and comparable languages for a very long time in her piece. Abbas thus hoped that while participating in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, he would create content for both Indian and Pakistani spectators.
“There was always curiosity about what was on the other side, more cultural similarities than differences, rivals on the field but comradery off the field, the same language and love of art and a country with a billion people, here to represent, to create content, and to bring in expertise from the best in the business. Abbas wrote on her ‘X’ account, “Humbled to be presenting in India for the Cricket WC2023 for the ICC again, a trip away from home of 6 weeks starts now.
Zainab Abbas’ future in this situation and how things turn out can only be determined with time. The ODI World Cup 2023 is currently in full swing, with fans having already experienced several thrilling matches and fireworks, including the host nation India’s opening-round thrashing of Australia on October 8
