WPL 2023: Match 17: GG-W vs. UP-W Preview, Playing XI, Live Streaming Details, and Updates

In the 17th match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), Gujarat Giants (GUJ-W) and UP Warriorz (UP-W) will play each other at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Monday, March 20. As the league stage of the tournament draws to a close, both teams will want to win more than anything. UP-W still has a chance to win the tournament, but GUJ-W can’t if they don’t win their last two matches.

Gujarat Giants, which is led by Sneh Rana, is at the bottom of the points table right now. In their last game, they lost by eight wickets to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Notably, Gujarat needs to win by a huge margin over UP Warriorz to improve their net run rate.

On the other hand, UP Warriorz are in third place with six points. After beating the top-ranked Mumbai Indians by five wickets, Alyssa Healy and the rest of her team will feel very good about themselves. In the first-ever WPL season, the team led by Harmanpreet Kaur has already made it to the playoffs.

The UP Warriorz only need to win one game to make it to the postseason. But RCB and GUJ-W will be out of the tournament if they win.

Pitch and the Terms
Most of the time, the pitch at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai plays well and is good for batting. The wickets will slow down, and the team that bats first will probably be able to score a lot of runs.

The likely lineup for GUJ-W vs. UP-W
Gujarat Giants Women
In the next match, Gujarat Giants will be trying to win, so they will play their best team. If they lose this game, they won’t have any chance of making it to the playoffs. They will look at both teams and choose players based on what they see. Now, let’s talk about how the Gujarat Giants have been doing recently. In their last match, even though they scored 188 runs, RCB beat them badly. When the UP Warriorz show up, it won’t be easy for the Giants to do well.
Probable Playing XI: Sophia Dunkley, Laura Wolvaardt, Harleen Deol, Ashleigh Gardner, Dayalan Hemalatha, Sabbhineni Meghana, Sushma Verma (wk), Kim Garth, Sneh Rana (c), Tanuja Kanwar, Ashwani Kumari

UP Warriorz Women
The UP Warriorz, which is led by Alyssa Healy, just had a great win over Mumbai Indians. They are likely to play the same team against Gujarat Giants so they can keep their winning streak going. In their last game against MI, the UP Warriorz pulled off a thrilling win to stop their streak of wins.

Though they do need to fix their problems in the middle order, which have been going on for a while. But beating MI has given them the confidence they need to go into the next game with a good attitude. Warriorz hit a hard target of 170 in their last match against the Giants, which gives them a mental edge over the Giants for their next match.

Alyssa Healy (captain and wicketkeeper), Devika Vaidya, Kiran Navgire, Tahlia McGrath, Grace Harris, Deepti Sharma, Simran Shaikh, Sophie Ecclestone, Parshavi Chopra, Anjali Sarvani, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, and Anjali Sarvani are likely to be in the playing XI.
