This Friday, October 27, at Chepauk, Pakistan and South Africa will play a pivotal ODI World Cup 2023 match.
Before the match, both captains made many changes to their starting lineups. Mohammad Wasim Jr. and Mohammad Nawaz were added back to the team, while Hasan Ali and Usama Mir were left off. Due to a fever, Pacer Hasan was unable to play in this match, however Temba Bavuma, South Africa’s normal captain, made his way back into the starting lineup after sitting out a few matches.
In addition, Lungi Ngidi and Tabraiz Shamsi returned to the team, although Lizaad Williams, Reeza Hendricks, and Kagiso Rabada were left out. According to a statement from Cricket South Africa (CSA), Rabada’s lower back spasm forced him to be sidelined for this match as a precaution. “Kagiso Rabada has been ruled out for today’s match as a precautionary measure due to a lower back spasm,” the statement stated.
