Match 26 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 between Pakistan and South Africa takes place at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday, October 27.
After winning the toss, Pakistani captain Babar Azam decided to bat first, however his choice was not supported by his openers, Abdullah Shafique (9 off 17) and Imam-ul-Haq, who were caught by Marco Jansen.
With Pakistan on 38/2, in-form batsman Muhammad Rizwan advanced to the crease at number 4. On the very first ball itself, the wicketkeeper-batter survived when Marco Jansen was unable to hold a challenging catch off his own bowling. The ball that followed was hit for a boundary by Rizwan after he gained an advantage over the South African seamer. Gerald Coetzee was observed rushing in to try to diffuse the argument between the two players as soon as the ball touched the fence.

Unfortunately, Rizwan’s innings was cut short when Gerald Coetzee forced him to edge on straight to Quinton de Kock, the wicketkeeper, for 31 (27). Coetzee was seen to be fired up after removing the Pakistan batter, as he celebrated the outing angrily.
