Afghanistan’s 23-year-old pacer Naveen-ul-Haq is the focus of media attention following an on-field altercation with former Indian captain Virat Kohli following Royal Challengers Bangalore’s victory over Lucknow Super Giants in a low-scoring match in Lucknow.
In the 17th over of the second innings, LSG pacer Naveen-ul-Haq engaged in a verbal exchange with a fired-up Virat Kohli, despite the lack of runs in the match. Even LSG’s mentor, the former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir, was drawn into their dispute, which persisted even after the game ended.
Following the altercation, the Afghanistan pacer reportedly informed one of his LSG teammates that he would not tolerate abuse from anyone on the field, which explains his on-field actions against RCB.
The Indian Express reports that he told one of his LSG teammates, “I’m here to play in the IPL, not to take abuse from anyone.”
