Over the past two seasons, Shubman Gill has emerged as one of the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) top hitters. Since joining GT, the star batter has established himself as a formidable hitter. He is captaining his team in the 17th league season, making history as one of the league’s youngest captains. Thus far in the league, GT has had a mixed record. They were down and out at one point in the season’s opening game. They surprised the audience by returning when no one had anticipated.
At one point, Dewald Brevis and Naman Dhir were playing well, but the GT bowlers caused a spectacular collapse that allowed GT to defeat MI by a thrilling 6-run margin. They never entered the game against CSK in their season’s second match. CSK scored an incredible 206 runs in the game. The home team’s bowlers were brought to the dry cleaners. There was absolutely no recovery. Eventually, GT’s batters were unable to influence the outcome of the game.

Standout performances vs Sunrisers Hyderabad
GT was playing at home against SRH in the second match of the tournament in 2023. The great opener struck a fantastic century, his second in the IPL, on a pitch that proved difficult to bat on. With 13 fours and a six, the GT opener amassed 101 runs in 58 balls. Because it was so fantastic, he did not receive adequate assistance from the other end. Despite batting slowly, Sai Sudarshan managed to score 47 runs in 36 balls at the other end. With ease, GT trounced SRH by 34 runs.
The IPL 2020 saw slower wickets that were harder to bat on as the competition went on. Gill batted brilliantly in the match against SRH while he was a member of KKR. In Abu Dhabi, KKR needed someone to bat until the very end after holding SRH to 142/4 on a sluggish pitch. The child accomplished precisely that by letting others pick on him. The right-handed batsman guided KKR to victory with two overs remaining, scoring an undefeated 70 (62). It was a mature knock.
