“Sanju Samson Acknowledges Team Failures”

Sanju Samson gave a direct commentary of the PBKS game after it ended. “We need to be honest with ourselves and acknowledge that we are experiencing some setbacks. Sanju Samson, the captain of RR, acknowledged after the five-wicket loss that his side is experiencing some setbacks that require immediate attention.

The Royals ascended to the top of the table after winning eight of their first nine games. But defeats by the Delhi Capitals, Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and now PBKS have forced them to regress. Some solace came when Delhi defeated the Lucknow Super Giants to guarantee RR a postseason spot. However, SRH and CSK have the potential to overtake them and take their place in the top two.

The RR captain urged his best players to raise their hands and play games that win them. “Yes, this is a team sport, but we also need individuals to rise up since our team has a lot of match-winners. Therefore, it comes down to having the ideal characters who can play with zeal and win the game for us on their own. It would be different if we all tried it and even a few [of players] were able to step up. “Those characters who can lead us are what we need,” he continued.

Sanju Samson brought attention to RR’s difficulties when batting first on slow pitches, such as those in Guwahati and Chennai earlier.
