Even though the four-time IPL champion Chennai Super Kings were on the road against the Kolkata Knight Riders, Eden Gardens was filled with a sea of yellow. MS Dhoni tremendous fan base in the cricket-crazed nation makes every match feel like a home match, according to CSK’s star New Zealand opener, Devon Conway.

In this year’s edition of the tournament, CSK’s visit to Eden Gardens to face Nitish Rana’s team was a familiar spectacle. The iconic venue was packed with supporters of the Chennai-based franchise, due in large part to the presence of illustrious CSK captain MS Dhoni, who has a tremendous fan base across the country regardless of the venue.

With rumors that IPL 2023 will be MS Dhoni’s final appearance in the tournament, supporters have been eager to support the legendary cricketer.

His CSK comrade Devon Conway disclosed that every match feels like a home fixture when the former Indian captain is on the field.

“The culture we have in Chennai is quite unique, and for us, it’s about maintaining this momentum. After his team’s dominating victory over KKR, Conway remarked, “Having MS makes us feel like every game is a home game.”

I believe that my collaboration with Rutu calms nerves, and Rutu deserves much of the credit: Conway Conway, who scored his fourth consecutive fifty of the season against KKR, credited his youthful Indian opening partner Ruturaj Gaikwad for his achievements at the top of the batting order. Additionally, he disclosed his strategy of using his feet against spinners on subcontinental surfaces.

“I believe my relationship with Rutu calms my anxiety. Rutu deserves an abundance of credit. I’m just attempting to be as transparent as feasible. I have always had a problem with the ball on the body, but I am overcoming it. Conway added, “By using my feet [against spinners], I am able to get into advantageous positions and gain momentum.”
