Right then, that is all we have from this entertaining game. On Monday, 13th of March it will be Bangalore going up against Delhi. That game will start at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT). Do join us for the build-up. Cheers!
Harmanpreet Kaur, the skipper of Mumbai is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH. She says that she is very happy with the performance and the team is playing really well. Adds that after some overs the ball started turning but Natalie Sciver-Brunt was really playing well at the other end. She says that the way the opponents were batting, they were off for a good total but Saika Ishaque got two crucial wickets and restricted their score. Mentions that she and Natalie Sciver-Brunt were calculating the score well and played well. Ends by saying that they need to do the right things and work on their mistakes.
Natalie Sciver-Brunt is down for a quick chat. She says that it feels good to win. Adds that there was some movement on the pitch but they certainly did well. She says that the pitch had some turn as well and she managed well with Kaur. Ends by saying that Kaur was excellent with the bat and it feels great to play alongside her.
Alyssa Healy, the skipper of UP says that they fell some runs short and the conditions were not easy as well. Adds that they needed some more runs and failed to break the partnership. She says that they gave a good fight and they need to look at how to improve their game. Mentions about the lbw and the chance where the bails didn't fall for Kaur. Ends by saying that they are trying hard and they can just hope that the results go their way in the upcoming games.
Time for some interviews...
UP, on the other hand, would feel that they did not capitalise on their chances in this game. They were all set to get a big total after Healy and Tahlia McGrath's partnership but lost their way at the backend and ended up at least 20-30 runs short. With the ball too, they dropped a couple of chances and some half-chances did not go their way as the famed spin attack of UP failed to put pressure on the Mumbai batters.
Mumbai have been dominating this season so far. In this game, they were pushed hard but they came back with flying colours both with the bat and ball. They made a tremendous comeback with the ball and restricted UP to 159 when they were looking all set to get at least 180 on the board. Saika Ishaque was brilliant with the ball again and picked three important wickets. With the bat then, Yastika Bhatia set the tone with a well-compiled 42 but they lost both the openers in quick succession and were in a spot of bother near the 8th over mark. However, the experienced duo of Natalie Sciver-Brunt and Harmanpreet Kaur stitched together a brilliant unbeaten stand of 106 runs that eventually took Mumbai home with 15 balls to spare.
Mumbai have notched up another impressive win! They make it four in four and are looking like an extremely professional and motivated unit. UP tried hard and had their moments in the game but Mumbai were too good in crunch situations and won this game quite comfortably in the end.
