UPDATE - Well, nothing new to update about. However, as we are nearing that cut-off time, Barbados Royals will start to feel more and more frustrated because if we do not get a restart then Trinbago Knight Riders will go through to Qualifier 2 due to their higher position in the league than Royals.
UPDATE - 7.29 am IST (1.59 am GMT) - Simon Doull on air informs that one of the light towers is back on now but the other one is still being worked on. Until all the light towers are back working, the conditions will not be fit to play. Also, we had an hour before overs started reducing but that hour has now passed. So, even if we get a restart, it will be a shortened game. Also, the cut-off time to get a 5-over contest is 8.22 am IST (2.52 am GMT). All we can do is hope for the best here.
UPDATE - 7.05 am IST (1.35 am GMT) - The visuals show that the groundstaff, the umpires, and the two captains, Kieron Pollard and Rovman Powell are having a long conversation. By the looks of it, it seems like the ground staff is saying that it will take a long time to fix the lights. He is asking the skippers if they want, they continue the game with whatever lights they have at the moment, but neither side is too interested in that. We can see the players going back into the dressing rooms again. Stick with us for more news.
While we wait for updates about the resumption of this game, there have been a couple of shake-ups in the leadership roles in international cricket. Babar Azam has resigned from the Pakistan Cricket Team white-ball captaincy. While in the longer format, Tim Southee has also stepped down as New Zealand Test skipper. Tom Latham will be replacing him and his first task will be the Test series against India later this month.
Halt! One section of the floodlights have gone off here at the Providence Stadium. So, we will have a delay until that issue is fixed. The players make their way out to their respective dressing rooms and it looks like it will take some time to get the lights back on. Stay tuned for further updates.

SIX! Still not from the middle, but it is Dre Russ! Short of a length and on middle, slower too, Andre Russell goes through his pull shot early, loses his bottom hand but manages to generate enough power to send it over the deep mid-wicket fence for a biggie.
Who bowls the last over? It will be Obed McCoy (3-0-17-0).

Change of pace again, hard length and outside off, Nicholas Pooran slashes at it but fails to connect.

Absolutely floored him! Naveen-ul-Haq delivers a splendid yorker, on middle and leg, Nicholas Pooran gets completely bamboozled by it and fails to get a bat on that. He gets hit on the pads while falling down. Naveen-ul-Haq is confident here and Rovman Powell takes the review. UltraEdge shows no bat involved but Ball Tracking shows that is has pitched outside leg. Royals lose a review!

Slower, on a length and on middle, Andre Russell turns it to the leg side for a run.

Pitched up and on middle, Nicholas Pooran drags it towards long on for a single.

FOUR! Not good bowling! Short and wide outside off, Nicholas Pooran knows there is not protection in the deep and slashes hard at it, gets an outside edge that flies over the slip cordon for a boundary. 500 runs up for Nicky P in this CPL season!

Naveen-ul-Haq follows the batter well here! He bowls this full and outside off, Nicholas Pooran moves across for the scoop but misses and gets hit on the pads as the ball goes nowhere. Naveen-ul-Haq goes to pick up the ball and exchange a few words with Pooran.

Fuller but way outside off, Nicholas Pooran leaves it alone. Wided.
Naveen-ul-Haq (3-0-18-1) to bowl the penultimate over.

Short of a length and on middle, Andre Russell looks to pull but gets a bottom edge onto the pitch. The batters steal a run.

FOUR! Dre Russ joins the party! Nothing wrong with the ball, it is a good wide yorker, outside off. Andre Russell gets his bat down in time and adjusts well to carve it away between short third and point for a boundary. 150 up for Trinbago Knight Riders and the 50-run stands it up as well.
