Dwayne Bravo, the victorious skipper of Delhi Bulls, says that it was their aim to get into the Top 2. He credits his players and says that they did a fantastic job. He adds that they need to enjoy this game but regroup and comeback strongly tomorrow. He mentions that in this tournament any team can beat any team on their day and it is important to do well on that day.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz is the Player of the Match. He says that he is very happy to score runs and says he is in a good form. Mentions that Bravo is an excellent skipper and he supports him a lot and is very happy to play under him.
Stay tuned for the Presentation!
Earlier in the game, Delhi Bulls posted a good total of 135 runs, thanks to Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Sherfane Rutherford who scored blistering fifties in a crucial encounter. Their bowlers rose to the occasion in the second innings to hand them a comprehensive win against Team Abu Dhabi, which resulted in the Bulls moving to the second spot in the points table.
Delhi Bulls would be extremely pleased with their bowling effort, considering the importance of this game. Chandrapaul Hemraj set the tone with the ball upfront when he knocked off Paul Stirling in the first over. However, Adil Rashid stole the show for Delhi Bulls when he came to bowl in the 5th over. He bagged a hat-trick which also included the priced wicket of Liam Livingstone and turned the game on its head. He was well-supported by the other bowlers and in the end they won the match by a huge margin which did their net run rate a world of good.
Well, nothing much to talk about Team Abu Dhabi's batting today. They did lose a wicket early but Philip Salt got them off to a good start. Once he got out, the onus was on Liam Livingstone to see his team through. He looked in good touch out in the middle but perished in that Adil Rashid's magical over. None of the batters managed to get in and play a long innings and Team Abu Dhabi fell short by a big margin.
This has been a clinical performance from Delhi Bulls and now they will be playing the Qualifier 1 against Deccan Gladiators. Team Abu Dhabi weren't at their best and have failed to cross the line against the Bulls. The men in yellow will be playing the Eliminator.
