Perth Scorchers beat Brisbane Heat by 49 runs (D/L method)

Well, that is all that we have from this game. This loss means the end of the road for the Heat in BBL 10, whereas the Scorchers book their place in the finals of the tournament. The Grand Finale of the Big Bash League 10 will be played on Saturday, 06th February 2021 between the SYDNEY SIXERS and the PERTH SCORCHERS at 1940 local (0840 GMT). It is building up to be a mouth-watering affair. So we do hope that you join us for that game. Until then, take care and cheers!
Liam Livingstone is the Man of the Match! He says that they have played good cricket and they deserve to go through to the finals and the boys are very confident. Feels that they will try to train well tomorrow and hopes that they play well in the finals. Feels that he has been working hard but has not quite got the runs he was hoping for and it is nice to get some runs under his belt. Tells that there is a spice when the Sixers and Scorchers play and says that both the teams deserve to be there. Also feels that he is happy that they can play with crowds around as it has been some time since that has happened. Ends by saying that he hopes that they can bring it home.
Earlier in the day, after the Perth Scorchers were put in to bat. Out came, Liam Livingstone along with Cameron Bancroft. Yes, Jason Roy was ruled out of this fixture due to an ankle injury. Both the openers started carting the bowlers as Livingstone reached his fifty in just 27 balls and stitched a 114-run stand with Bancroft. Though Liam departed, Bancroft and Marsh, who was promoted up the order took a liking to the Heat bowlers as they hammered all the bowlers for runs. Bancroft got to his fifty and Marsh was stranded on 49 before the rain came in and halted the Perth innings on 18.1 overs. Heat's bowling was nothing of what they displayed in the earlier games as every bowler who bowled was sent into the night sky. Even Morne Morkel, the X-Factor sub for them was not spared. In the end, lackluster bowling and hasty batting saw them lose to the Scorchers.
What a bowling performance this was by the Scorchers. They kept applying the pressure right from the start and did not let the dangerous batters of Heat run away with this one. It began when Jason Behrendorff struck twice to get rid of Denly and Lynn and only stopped when the last ball of the game was bowled. Except for Richardson, who was uncharacteristically expensive, all the bowlers had at least two wickets to their name and Hardie ended up with three. Overall, a top-notch show from Perth.
Chasing a big total of 200 in just 18 overs, the Heat started gradually. But then they started getting the hang of things as Lynn and Denly were looking to go big. But once Denly fell, the whole batting line-up of Heat collapsed. Lynn fell right on the next ball and things became even more harder for Heat. They fell like a pack of cards and were not able to stage a comeback after this. Joe Burns tried to do so towards the end, but the asking rate was just way too much and in the end, the Heat missed out.
Right, folks! We have it then. 06th February 2021 - the grand finale of BBL 10 - Sydney Sixers versus the Perth Scorchers. This has been a champion performance by the Scorchers as they have made sure that the Heat does not even have a sniff of a chance of making the finals. You name it and they have bossed that department - Bat, Ball, Field. Top class show by Perth.

FOUR! Swepson finds the ropes now. Bowls a good length ball around off, Swepson makes some room and slaps this one over the cover region and the ball speeds away to the ropes.

IN THE AIR....DROPPED! Tye has dropped this one. On a length and on middle, Laughlin slams this one and it goes high up in the air towards the mid off region. Tye runs in and looks to take this one but the ball goes through his hands and this chance has gone by. One run.

OUT! CAUGHT! A very easy take for the keeper. Morkel has not idea how to have played that. Tye bowls a short length ball on middle, Morkel looks to fend this one away but he lets his bat hang and the ball takes the bat and lobs towards Inglis who takes the easiest of catches.
