Imad Wasim, the captain of Karachi Kings, says that the last defeat was tough but they knew they can bounce back. Credits the bowling at the death but also admits that their fielding was very poor. Calls Mohammad Amir the best bowler in the world and he backs him. On Joe Clarke, Imad shares that he has played with him in the past and he calls him box office. Further says that Joe is a gun player who plays good cricket shots and doesn't just slog.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH IS BABAR AZAM. He says that you need to improve in every game as no one is perfect and he learns from his past mistakes. Admits that he thought that they will be chasing a target around 220-230 after the way Multan Sultans started. Mohammad Rizwan, the captain of Multan Sultans, comes up for an interview. Last evening Mohammad Rizwan had said that he doesn't believe in toss dictating match results and maybe he will change his perception now. Having said that, Multan Sultans had the chase to get a massive score on the board after reaching 107 runs in 10 overs. But their batting faltered a shade after that and they failed to get the desired push in the death overs. The bowling from Karachi must be praised for keeping Multan under 200 and now their batsmen have made a complete mockery of the target.
Chasing a target of 196, Karachi Kings started briskly and made full use of the Powerplay. Sharjeel Khan carried on with his fine form and played his part in the opening stand. Joe Clarke then joined skipper Babar Azam and together they powered a 97-run stand off just 58 balls to almost put the chase to bed. Two wickets did fall in quick succession but the presence of Babar Azam meant that there was no pressure and the Kings eventually romped home with 7 balls remaining. Babar stayed unbeaten on 90 which is also his highest PSL score.
Done and dusted! The chasing team has won, 9 in 9 now in this season's Pakistan Super League. You just cannot defend a total in Karachi. Targets in the 190s are getting overhauled with the utmost ease. The template remained the same and it won't be wrong to say that win the toss and win the game.
