Trinbago Knight Riders beat Jamaica Tallawahs by 19 runs

A few hits to the fence in the end from Andre Russell is not enough as Trinbago Knight Riders continue to sail over in this tournament. They got to their 7th straight win in the edition of CPL. What a performance it has been from them.
Jamaica's chase began on sorry note as they lost two quick wicket early on in the innings.Though Glenn Phillips and Nkrumah Bonner got together to stitch a revival but the asking was too much for them. Akeal Hosein and Khary Pierre were the one's who struck at the start and later during the middle overs Fawad Ahmed with his two wickets closed the door of comeback for Jamaica. Russell and Brathwaite too could not do much with the asking rate climbing.
Talking of the game, TKR after being put into bat posted a massive total with a strong batting performance. Colin Munro came out all guns blazing after being out for a couple of ducks. Pollard led from the front as he ensured TKR reach 180+. Talking of Tallawahs bowling then it was just a bad day with the ball for them.Just not with the ball even the fielding was rusty which put the extra burden on their batsmen who are under the pump in this season.
COLIN MUNRO IS NAMED PLAYER OF THE MATCH. He starts by saying this knock has been a huge relief for him and he is happy with his performance. Adds that the boys backed him and believed in him. Mentions it has been a hot day and the warm-ups were tough for them. Mentions that Pollard is a fantastic guy and he gives freedom to everybody else. On speaking with Sandeep post the game, Munro tells that he wasn't picking the spinner and was talking about it. Ends up wishing his daughter a belated happy birthday who is back home in New Zealand.
Rovman Powell, the Jamaica Tallawahs skipper, tells that TKR played better cricket than them and they deserved the credit for the same. However, is happy with Russell's performance with the bat. On the failures of Walton, Powell feels they will still back the batsman. Feels 180-plus on this wicket was at least 20 runs too many.
Pollard says that he is happy to be among runs. Feels he didn't do a lot of batting but has worked well on a couple of things from the last year. On their 7th win on a trot, Pollard is happy with it. Tells that Ali Khan is struggling with the niggle right now but adds he is working hard. Tells that they still have areas to improve. Says they dropped catches and were bit poor on the field as well and they will continue to strive for excellence.
That is it from this game where the TKR stretches their winning run to 7 games. The next match between Guyana and Amazon Warriors will be played on Tarouba, Trinidad on 2nd September, 2020. Join us at 1730 local (2130 GMT). Till then, take care.
