Perth Scorchers beat Hobart Hurricanes by 77 runs

So that is it from this game! Perth break into the top 4 and Hobart stay where they were. Big Bash action continues at the 'Gabba on Tuesday as Brisbane Heat welcome the Adelaide Strikers at 1440 local (0440 GMT). Till then, take care and goodbye!
MAN OF THE MATCH, Josh Inglis, says he is just watching the ball pretty closely, they have been given the freedom to play their shots and it is working well. Ends by saying they are doing well here, the schedule is tough and they are looking forward to the next game.
Earlier in the day, after being inserted, the visitors got off to a poor start. However, Marsh and Inglis took Perth to safer shores with a 100-plus run stand. Inglis was the star as he finished with a half ton. Perth though did not end with the bat that well but that proved to be enough by some margin.
All the bowlers did exceedingly well for the visitors. Richardson was the pick with a four-fer, Fawad was once again impressive. Livingstone also took a couple right at the death. Marsh also had a scalp to his name. Overall a commanding performance by the away team.
Another dominating performance from the Perth Scorchers! A huge margin of victory for them, 77, which is a big one in the shortest format. Jhye Richardson got them off to the best possible starts by getting rid of Wade and Miller in one over itself. Jewell and Bailey then looked to build a partnership but once the former fell, the hosts kept losing wickets at regular intervals. There was another decent stand between Bailey and Milenko but that too was broken at the right time. Just the one batter crossed the 30-run mark and that is not enough when you are chasing a total which is par.

OUT! In the air... taken! Miller goes for a duck and his poor Big Bash continues. Hobart are off to a dreadful start and it is a brilliant start for Richardson with the ball. Two runs and two wickets from his first. This is a length delivery, it is angling across the left-hander. Miller looks to work it against the angle which is never a good idea. It goes off the leading edge and it seems to be going over David at short cover. He stretches out both his hands and takes it. Made full use of his height there. David starts with a short delivery on off, Wade makes room and cuts it towards point for a single. The Hurricanes are off the mark.
We are back for the chase. The Perth Scorchers players are out in the middle. Matthew Wade and Caleb Jewell will open the batting for Hobart Hurricanes. Tim David will start the proceedings for Perth Scorchers.
175 now is not going to be an easy chase! They will have to bat really well against a good bowling unit. However, the wicket is decent, it though is offering some assistance to the bowlers too. Should be an interesting second half. Stay tuned.
The Hobart bowling was decent to begin with but took a real pounding in the middle overs. They did extremely well though right at the death and for that credit has to be given to Ellis who. He was well supported by Rose and Rogers. Qais and Bolland were on the expensive side but both had a wicket to their name.
So an excellent comeback from the hosts to keep the visitors below 180. At one stage, when Marsh and Inglis were batting, 190 or maybe even 200 looked possible but that was not the case. However, even before those two joined association, it seemed like Perth would struggle to get to 150 as they lost two very early. Then came the 109-run stand with Inglis scoring a half ton. However, the two fell in quick succession and then it got hard for the new batters to come in and score immediately. Just the 44 runs is what they managed in the last 5 overs and at the moment, it is probably even-stevens.

A couple to end! Very full and on middle, Green looks to whip it but gets an inside edge down towards fine leg. One run is completed and then they go for the second. Green dives in to make it. So no boundary in the last over but still 10 from it. PERTH END WITH 175!

OUT! RUN OUT AND WIDE! Jordan is a goner! Green shuffles across and Ellis bowls it down the leg side. Green misses the flick. OUT! In the air... and Qais Ahmed takes a very, very good catch. Big, big wicket and a timely one. Just as Marsh would have thought of cutting loose, Hobart find the breakthrough. End of a brilliant stand for the Scorchers. Rogers bowls a slower one and on middle, Marsh is a touch early into his shot as he tries to loft it straight. He ends up hitting it very high up in the air between long on and long off. Ahemd from long on runs to his left and takes a good catch falling forward. Can Hobart now pull things back a little?
