Nicholas Pooran, the skipper of the Deccan Gladiators says that he is proud of the group. Adds that they learned from their mistakes and batted well. Shares that the bowlers followed it up nicely and were fabulous. He lauds the UAE players who have excellent skills and says that Zahoor Khan in their team has been brilliant and they back him. Andre Fletcher is the Player of the Match for his brilliant knock. He says that he was on the luckier side as the wicket was stopping a bit. Adds that he backed himself and it came off. Earlier in the game, the Deccan Gladiators posted a brilliant score of 141 on the back of excellent knocks from Andre Fletcher, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, and Nicholas Pooran. Fletcher was the most aggressive of the batters as he smacked five maximums and stuck over the strike rate of 300. Rumman Raees and Tymal Mills had a terrific outing with the ball for Team Abu Dhabi but their batting failed to fire. Team Abu Dhabi will hope to bounce back and get back into winning ways.
Luke Wood and Nuwan Thushara were brilliant up top with the ball and conceded just 13 in their four overs combined. The rest of the bowlers followed up the good work to restrict Team Abu Dhabi to just 78 and this gave a massive win for the Gladiators. The Deccan Gladiators bag two important points and move to number second in the points table.
A comprehensive win for the Deccan Gladiators as they beat Team Abu Dhabi by 63 runs. Chasing 142 for the win, the openers Hales and Mayers failed to get going and they were reduced to 16 for 3 in the 5th over. Leus du Plooy and Colin Ingram tried their best in the middle but the run rate was creeping high and things got difficult for them. Team Abu Dhabi have lost all their four games so far and will need to regroup quickly if they are to qualify for the playoffs.
