Benny Howell says they had to win and now they wait how things end up. Adds it was a good team performance and now hopes for the best with their fingers crossed. Shares the team has gelled really well and have done their part this season.
Dasun Shanaka wins the Player of the Match. He says it was important to score runs in the middle and to give the best chance to qualify for the next round. Adds the ball was staying low during the spinners and they used the conditioned well. Tells he loves the tournament as it helps to express them.
...Presentation next.
When it mattered the most, no one stepped up for Chennai Braves. Only Charith Asalanka showed up for the task. Apart from his 55, only Vriitya Aravind ended with a double-digit score. That tells the story. They are now officially out of the race. Bangla Tigers on the other hand will hope the Bulls lose their last match.
A big vicotry for Bangla Tigers as this helps them get to the third position and keep their playoff hopes alive. It was a really good all-round performance from them. The bowlers had runs to play with and executed their plans really well. Kept it tight and took regular wickets. The off-pace deliveries really worked for them. Have to say, the late flourish from Benny Howell made a huge difference.
