There were numerous discussions and disagreements after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed the core contracts for the Indian men’s cricket team due to some significant changes. Even though some players’ contract statuses improved, others saw their contracts worsen from the previous year.
From Grade C to Grade B BCCI central contract last year, Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav received an upgrade. Though the great spinner’s skills should have won him a Grade A contract, his childhood coach, Kapil Dev Pandey, says otherwise.
Kuldeep has demonstrated his talent and commitment to international cricket during his journey. For seven years, including several World Cups, the 29-year-old has represented India in all three forms. He has been a reliable player, frequently producing vital breakthroughs with his deft left-arm wrist spin.

Although the spinner has made significant contributions to the team’s success, his coach feels that his placement in the Grade B bracket does not reflect his true ability. Only Axar Patel plays all three forms consistently among the players with Grade B contracts.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, and Suryakumar Yadav are the other individuals in the same group. Looking through other players’ contracts reveals an even greater difference. Players who compete in just two formats, like Hardik Pandya, have been awarded a Grade A contract, whereas Kuldeep has been a consistent performer in all formats.
At the present, Kuldeep is perhaps among the greatest in the world. Raising him to Grade A was the right move. Inside Sports quoted Kapil Dev Pandey as saying, “He has been performing consistently well, but I am sure he will achieve that place soon.”
Kudeep’s coach commended him for his outstanding achievements when he got the chance and told him not to let other events distract him from his game. “He is now doing a fantastic job with whatever opportunity he gets. He should maintain his positive attitude and concentrate solely on the game, as I advised him when I spoke with him a few days ago.
