At Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday, April 6, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by six wickets to extend their winning streak in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024). Virat Kohli’s incredible century (113* off 72) helped RCB, who were batting first, reach a respectable score of 183/3 in the 20 overs permitted.
With a fantastic century from Jos Buttler and a half-century from skipper Sanju Samson, Rajasthan responded by reaching the goal in 19.1 overs. RR moved up to the top of the points table with eight points from four games thanks to their victory, while RCB dropped to seventh place with two points from five games.
These are a few of the game’s highlights that we can review:
1. Virat Kohli achieves his first season-long hundred.
The great batsman has been in outstanding form this season and is once again in excellent shape at the crease. After reaching his half-century off 39 balls, the RCB opener joined Faf du Plessis in an incredible 125-run partnership that ended after 84 balls. With 12 fours and four sixes to cap his innings at 113* (72) in the second to last over of the innings, Kohli reached his century off 67 balls.

2. Sanju Samson, at number three, plays a captain’s knock.
Yashasvi Jaiswal (0 off 2) was dismissed for a duck, forcing the Rajasthan Royals captain to walk to the crease with his club behind 0/1. He did, however, relieve some of the tension in the dressing room with his magnificent knock of 69 (42) that included eight fours and two sixes. With just 86 deliveries, Samson and Jos Buttler had a huge 148-run partnership that put Rajasthan in contention for victory.

3. Jos Buttler reaches his sixth century in the IPL.
After scoring 11, 11, and 13 in the first three tournament matches, the RR opener eventually regained his stride. Buttler held one end and put Rajasthan ahead with a huge stand with his captain after he lost his opening partner early. After completing his hundred runs, the English cricket player hit Cameron Green over the deep mid-wicket boundary with the final over needed to win. With the assistance of nine fours and four sixes, he concluded the innings with an undefeated 100* off 58 balls.
