In the 19th game of the current Indian Premier League 2024, Virat Kohli put on a spectacular display of his outstanding batting abilities. At Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, during the Rajasthan Royals vs. Royal Challengers Bengaluru game, Kohli scored a historic century.
Faf du Plessis elected to bat first, and Kohli spearheaded the RCB’s advance by forming a potent opening partnership with him that lasted 125 runs. In 20 overs, Kohli led RCB to a total of 183/3, staying undefeated at 113, despite the captain’s untimely exit. The player, who was born in New Delhi, had a brilliant performance, scoring four sixes and twelve boundaries in 67 balls to reach his half-century in 39 balls.
After smashing a six off his bowling during the match, Virat Kohli had a lighthearted moment during which he feigned to smack his old partner, Yuzvendra Chahal.

Scoring against spinners was difficult. Faf Du Plessis
RCB skipper Faf du Plessis gave his thoughts on the game after it ended, highlighting the difficult surface conditions and complimenting Rajasthan’s spinners. Although he admitted that the dew made batting easier, he thought they could have scored a few more runs. In addition to talking about bowling tactics and highlighting Kohli’s critical role in the late overs, Du Plessis also expressed the need for increased energy in fielding.
“We had trouble getting a good wicket in the first innings, I believe. I felt that 190 was a decent score, but we could have added a maximum of 10 to 15 runs. They made a wise choice to bowl first because their spinners bowled well (in the middle overs). Batting grew simpler with the dew. When someone like Green comes in, you want to make the most of those final overs because Virat was playing brilliantly at the latter part of the game. Squeezing against the spinners was difficult, despite our best efforts. The losing captain said after the game, “It was easier to hit the seamers.”

“You could tell that the pitch improved, as the ball was sliding along well. For the first four overs, we were quite well. That Mayank Dagar 20-run over, in my opinion, broke the momentum and put the pressure back on us. We have talked about Fielding’s mediocrity and will endeavor to make improvements. The Proteas hitter continued, “It’s not about catches; it’s about displaying intensity on the field.”
