Following their scandal on the black market during the 2023 ODI World Cup, the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has declared that tickets for the forthcoming India vs England Test match, which is scheduled to start on January 25 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, will only be available online. The Hyderabad Gymkhana and other designated counters will be the only places where fans can swap their online tickets for physical copies, after the HCA stepped in to prohibit the black-marketing of match tickets.
The president of the HCA, Jagan Mohan Rao, spoke out to discuss how all the preparations for the match against England are complete and how the board has taken the necessary steps to stop the unauthorized sale of tickets.
“This game is highly esteemed. This match seems to be changing, in my opinion. Everything is set up, including housekeeping, security, and meal preparation. I have the support of 217 club members and the Apex council. Instead of being sold offline, all tickets will be offered online using Paytm (Insider). Rao informed RTV that everyone with an online ticket must pick up printed tickets at Gymkhana on the 21st.
On Republic Day, military and students get free admission.
Additionally, the group announced that complimentary tickets will be distributed to Indian warriors and children on the famous day of Republic Day, which is celebrated on January 26. Furthermore, 10,000 schoolchildren will be sent by the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) to watch the match live from the venue.
“Inviting soldiers to the game is a present from my side because January 26 is a unique event. We welcome soldiers and their families. A minimum of 2000–3000 members have been invited. We’ve distributed complimentary passes. In particular, government schools are the focus, according to Jagan Mohan Rao.
It is noteworthy that the Indian team will play England in a five-game Test series. The results of the matches could determine the team’s position in the World Test Championship (WTC) points table, and the Rohit Sharma-led team will be hoping for a positive result following their most recent series draw against South Africa.
