With three wickets for 32 runs in 3.3 overs, Gerald Coetzee was the Proteas’ most effective bowler. With the exception of Andile Phehlukwayo, each bowler took one wicket.

The game was shortened to 15 overs, and South Africa needed to win by chasing 152 runs. For the first wicket, Reeza Hendricks and Matthew Breetzke put up a strong partnership of 42 runs in just 2.5 overs. Breetzke was out after seven deliveries for sixteen runs. Hendricks and Aiden Markram partnered in the middle during the course of a second wicket partnership of 54 runs. In 13.5 overs, South Africa completed the target after losing three more wickets.

For 34 runs in three overs, Mukesh Kumar claimed two wickets. Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Siraj split the one wicket between them. The winner of Player of the Match went to Shamsi. In four overs, he conceded eighteen runs and removed Suryakumar from the game.
