Renowned Bollywood star Salman Khan is frequently in the spotlight for a variety of reasons. A tweet tweeted by Salman in 2014 has gone viral ahead of the highly anticipated IPL 2025 (Indian Premier League) matchup between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS).
What’s the reason? The Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab team is about to play their second IPL final in 11 years. Notably, in 2014, PBKS faced the Kolkata Knight Riders but were defeated in a thriller, losing by three wickets. Salman had asked Punjab co-owner and actress Preity Zinta whether her team had won the IPL final or not.
“Zinta’s team won kya?” Salman had tweeted on his official ‘X’ handle.
Now, 11 years later, the IPL franchise noticed his tweet and, before the Ahmedabad encounter, came up with a cheeky reply. They cordially invited the Bollywood actor to witness the final showdown on Tuesday, June 3. Following the response, some fans eagerly expressed their views and demanded that the franchise ensure Salman attends the IPL 2025 final. Another fan suggested the tweet should be reposted once PBKS lift their maiden IPL title.
“See you in the final bhai,” Kings replied through their official social media handle.

Iyer led Kings to the second IPL final with batting prowess.
Meanwhile, Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer led from the front with his bat. In what turned out to be a rain-affected match in IPL 2025 Qualifier 2, Iyer helped his team chase down a massive 202-run target to defeat the five-time winners, the Mumbai Indians.
Throughout the match, Iyer shown his class and stood tall to the end. He delivered a fantastic hit of 87* runs off just 42 balls. During his spectacular innings, he hit eight sixes. Quite fascinatingly, Shreyas Iyer, looking immersed in his serious on-field mood, was subsequently spotted hugging Preity Zinta to celebrate the team’s arrival in the IPL final after a lengthy wait.
