Rinku Singh, the batter for Star India and the Kolkata Knight Riders, and Member of Parliament Priya Saroj have reportedly postponed their wedding, which was originally slated for November 18, 2025. On June 8, the pair got engaged in a lavish ceremony at Lucknow’s Hotel Centrum. Over 300 attendees attended the occasion, including well-known cricketers and politicians. Notable guests included Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav, MP Dimple Yadav, actress Jaya Bachchan, veteran politician Rajeev Shukla, and Indian bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Rinku posted photos from the ceremony on his official Instagram account.

Why is Rinku Singh’s wedding with Priya Saroj postponed?

According to multiple media reports, the ceremony has now been pushed to February 2026 due to Rinku’s packed schedule in the coming months. As per reports from Amar Ujala and Dainik Jagran, the wedding was initially booked at the Taj Hotel in Varanasi for November 18, 2025. However, the southpaw’s schedule with the national team, especially during the home season, has led both families to agree on rescheduling the wedding.

Rinku Singh-Priya Saroj’s new wedding date and location

The new tentative date is set for February 2026, although there is no official announcement made by the couple. Rinku is expected to feature in India’s white-ball tour to Australia for three ODIs and five T20Is between October 19 and November 8. This will be followed by hectic home assignments for the Men in Blue in December.

According to reports, the wedding venue might shift from Varanasi to a destination location, though no confirmation has been made yet. The decision is reportedly influenced not only by Rinku’s cricket calendar, but also by the families’ desire to have a celebration where close friends and extended relatives can attend without constraints.

Who is Priya Saroj?

Priya Saroj is a first-time Member of Parliament representing Machhlishahr in Uttar Pradesh, having contested on a Samajwadi Party ticket during the 2024 general elections. The daughter of SP leader Toofani Saroj, she has maintained a low media profile but has been involved in political activities since her father’s 2022 assembly campaign.
