Robin Uthappa and Anil Kumble discussed India’s prospective future given their skill pool. Former Indian cricketers praised players such as Sai Sudharsan, Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh, Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Vaibhav Suryavanshi, claiming they represent the country’s future in the sport.
Uthappa discussed Sai Sudharsan and how the youngster moved from being retired in IPL 2024 to winning the Orange Cap in IPL 2025 simply by modifying his shot selection. He remarked that Sudharsan’s strike rate increased from the 130s to the 170s and saw him as an all-rounder with Gill and Jaiswal.
“Sai Sudharsan’s growth has been extraordinary.
He was just retired last season because he did not score swiftly. This year, without modifying his technique, he improved his strike rate from 130 to 170. He is now the holder of the Orange Cap. That’s really impressive. I truly believe he’s one of India’s potential three-format players, right alongside Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal,” Uthappa told JioHotstar.
