Tim Paine will be joined by national pace bowling coach Adam Griffith, Australian women’s team assistant coach Scott Prestwidge, and Northern Territory Cricket’s Pathway and Development coach Trent Keep as part of the Australia A coaching group for the series against Sri Lanka A beginning July 4 in Darwin.

Paine has provided help to the Australian women’s and men’s teams over the previous two years, as well as coaching the PM’s XI against India in December.

In addition to his obligations with Australia A and Adelaide Strikers, Tim Paine will continue to coach the Australian women’s team at times over the forthcoming season.

The National Selection Panel (NSP) has chosen 12 men’s players to visit the MRF Academy in Chennai between July 31 and August 13.

The 13-day journey is primarily aimed at young hitters, wicketkeepers, and spin bowlers, who the NSP believes will benefit from exposure to the peculiar circumstances of subcontinent cricket.

Cricket Australia’s partnership with the MRF Academy enables individuals who choose to participate in a personalised experience. The timetable includes competitive play, tough training chances, and access to strength and conditioning facilities.

Brian McFadyen, Cricket Australia’s Senior Program Manager (men’s cricket), will travel as tour manager, along with Australia U19s and New South Wales coach Anthony Clark, South Australia batting coach Stephen Stubbings, and Cricket Queensland Academy coach Greg Moller.

Uncontracted left-arm finger-spinner Zanden Jeh has also been included to Australia A’s team for the multi-format series against Sri Lanka in Darwin.

Ben Oliver, CA Executive General Manager National Teams, stated, “We’re delighted to continue our long-standing partnership with the MRF Academy and provide another group of young players a very unique experience.

“For numerous players, this will be their first visit to the subcontinent, thus this trip will provide an opportunity to learn valuable new experience in challenging situations.

“We’re excited to see Tim take over as Australia A head coach this season, building on his previous engagement in national programs over the last two years.

“Tim is passionate about supporting the next tier of future Australian players and brings a wealth of contemporary playing and coaching experience to the role.”

Australia A squad:

Joel Curtis, Harry Dixon, Zanden Jeh, Campbell Kellaway, Angus Lovell, Rafael MacMillan, Ollie Peake, Lloyd Pope, Niv Radhakrishnan, Jason Sangha, Liam Scott, Lachlan Shaw.
