Preity Zinta, co-owner of Punjab Kings, took to X to celebrate the team’s five-wicket win over Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025 Qualifier 2 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Zinta was at the event and was overjoyed when PBKS crossed the finish line in a frantic run-chase.

She shared PBKS’ X post on her Facebook with the description, “Wow, what a win.” Punjabi aa gaye oye!”

Preity Zinta has only been to one IPL final before, PBKS’ (then KXIP)

Inaugural against Kolkata Knight Riders in Bengaluru in 2014, which ended in agony for the George Bailey-led team.

In Qualifier 2, Shreyas Iyer’s wonderfully paced undefeated 41-ball 87 propelled his team to a memorable victory over the five-time winners. His power-packed innings included five fours and eight sixes. MI set a target of 204 runs for PBKS.

The other noteworthy performers for PBKS were Kyle Jamieson (1/30 in four overs) and Nehal Wadhera (48 off 29). PBKS finished first in the league phase, with 19 points from 14 games and a net run rate of +0.372.

On Tuesday, June 3, PBKS will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the same venue as in Qualifier 2. Both teams would be desperate to put on a solid performance when it counts the most and capture their first trophy after 18 seasons.
