Preity Zinta, co-owner of the Punjab Kings (PBKS), congratulated her players on reaching the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The Shreyas Iyer-led team dominated the IPL 2025 points table with 19 points and advanced to the finals after defeating five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in Qualifier 2 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The Bollywood actress praised captain Iyer, head coach Ricky Ponting, and the coaching staff for their efforts in getting the team to the finals after 11 years. She also praised all of the players, including Lockie Ferguson, Glenn Maxwell, and Marco Jansen, for their contributions to the team’s success despite the fact that they are no longer teammates. She appreciated their involvement in advancing the franchise to the finals.
“All smiles as PunjabKingsIPL advances to the finals thanks to a SUPER TEAM EFFORT led by our energetic sarpanch ShreyasIyer, our enthusiastic coach Ricky Ponting, and the entire coaching team and everyone at PBKS. Today would be completed without honouring Lockie Ferguson, Glenn Maxwell, and Marco Jansen, who made this final possible.
“One more game to play,” Preity Zinta posted on her X account.

The 2014 finalist will face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2025 final on June 3 in Ahmedabad. PBKS was blasted by RCB in Qualifier 1, forcing them to play MI in Qualifier 2. However, they rebounded from the loss with a spectacular performance by Iyer, propelling the franchise to the final.
On the other hand, RCB finished second in the points table and faced PBKS in the first Qualifier. RCB bowlers had outstanding spells to demolish the PBKS players, and they advanced to the finals with a decisive eight-wicket victory with 10 overs to spare.
