On May 25, during Match 67 of the 2025 Indian Premier League at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) starter Ayush Mhatre went crazy against Gujarat Titans (GT) during the powerplay.
To bowl the second over of the powerplay, GT left-arm pacer Arshad Khan entered the game.
Mhatre hit the second ball, a short of length delivery, for a maximum over long-on after scoring two runs on the first. On the following ball, the 17-year-old lofted the ball for another six over mid-on after clearing his front leg.
The right-hander then hit the ball wide of mid-off for a four after Arshad Khan attempted to push it outside off stump. The sixth ball was hit for another four over mid-wicket after being bowled at full length. The youthful player got on top of the bounce and blasted the short ball that Arshad bowled over the fine leg for a maximum. As CSK maximised the powerplay, the over progression read 2, 6, 6, 4, 4, 6, for a huge 28 runs.
The word ‘fear’ isn’t in their dictionary 🔥#CSK‘s young guns Ayush Mhatre and Urvil Patel added to the Ahmedabad heat with their knocks 👏
