During the ten-day intermission between the five-match Test series against India, England batsman Dan Lawrence is scheduled to play for the Desert Vipers in the ILT20. He took the place of Harry Brook, who withdrew from the tour for personal reasons.
Dan Lawrence was not involved in either of the first two games, and the management of the team has allowed him to continue in the T20 competition.
In the meantime, England has left the “heat of the rivalry” behind and headed to Abu Dhabi following a 106-run loss in the second Test in Visakhapatnam. Since the players haven’t brought their kitbags, head coach Brendon McCullum has announced that the squad won’t be practicing. There are currently no scheduled fielding drills or gym workouts, but they may happen.
It’s going to be quite laid-back. There won’t be a lot of instruction. Considering that all of the boys arrived in Abu Dhabi having played a significant amount of cricket, they have worked really hard. The Telegraph cited McCullum as saying, “We have had a lot of training days, two different Test matches, and this is an opportunity to step away from the heat of the battle.”
Rahul Dravid said that all of his boys are also shooting at home. McCullum
McCullum reported that following two tough Test matches, India’s head coach, Rahul Dravid, informed him that all of his players would be returning home for some downtime. The visitors are satisfied with the score as it is a “fair reflection” of the efforts put forth by both teams, he continued. He went on to say that, following the break, England would target India hard.
Rahul Dravid stated to me that all of his boys were also shooting at home during our conversation. We have a 1-1 record, which fairly indicates that we are competing. Over the last two Test matches, we’ve played some pretty good cricket. Indeed, we have erred in this instance, but in the last one, we were correct. The belief in our approach is as strong as it has ever been.
Dan Lawrence The 42-year-old stated, “It’s not good to lose, but we walk away saying we gave it our best shot in this Test match and India are deserved victors.”
