On the third day of the second Test match between India and England in Visakhapatnam, Shubman Gill produced a spectacular comeback, hitting a fantastic century and overcoming a 12-inning slump. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued a video in which the top Indian batter expressed his happiness.
Gill, who had previously come under fire for a string of poor scores, happily celebrated his hundredth birthday in front of his father and expressed gratitude for doing well in his presence. The Indian batter emphasized his father’s encouragement for him during his quest. For his good innings, he thanked his father’s advice to trust his gut and play the way he was naturally inclined to play.
It truly is gratifying and delightful. He is someone who has witnessed my path and has always given me support. A run scored in front of him was fantastic.
I should follow my gut and keep playing the way I’m playing, as my father advised me,” stated Shubman Gill.

The hitter acknowledged the anxiety in the early parts of his inning and made it through two near misses. He credited getting out of the slump to a little bit of luck.
It’s a pleasant feeling. Two of the referrals went my way, so the first fifteen to twenty minutes were tight. However, I believe that a little bit of luck is necessary when you are not scoring runs for three or four matches. I believe I understand. “I’m thrilled I could turn it into a hundred,” Shubman Gill continued.
Shubman Gill claimed that a key component of his incredible recovery was patience. But it’s crucial to remember who you are, your foundation, and how you got here. Your greatest innings and your best chance to hit the big one will only be prolonged if you alter your style of play,” he continued.
