On May 19, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) had Yash Dayal as their hero. RCB relied on their pacer Dayal to stop 17 runs off the last over in a game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) that was literally life or death. The bowler had to remain composed and perform, which he did when facing off against the rampaging MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja. Bengaluru defeated the opposition by 27 runs, and in theory, by nine runs, to advance to the Indian Premier League playoffs (IPL 2024).
Dayal is notorious for having given up five straight sixes off the final over during Rinku Singh’s incredible chase innings in the 2023 Indian Premier League. He received a lot of flak for his bowling prowess and served as food for internet trolls. Dayal, who had just bowled a match-winning over, naturally checked in on his mother after receiving criticism for his family as well.
After the game, Yash Dayal asked his mother via video chat, “Kaisa feel kar rahi ho? (how are you feeling, mom?)”
Following the first-ball six, Yash expressed his confidence in his ability to pull it off. The Chandrapal
Following their son’s incredible accomplishment, the right-arm pacer’s family was overcome with emotion. He had much to prove to the outside world, but his parents’ happiness gave him comfort. After getting struck for a six on the opening delivery, Dayal’s father, Chandrapal, disclosed that his son expressed confidence in his ability to restrict Dhoni.

Regarding the last over, Yash stated, “I was calm and composed and confident that I could pull it off after the first-ball six.” My nightmare from the previous season began to come back to me when Dhoni smashed his 110-meter six off the opening ball. Wow, darawana sapna firse aa raha tha jab Dhoni ne pehli ball pe sixer mara. News18 cited Chandrapal as saying, “Khana Khane ko time hi nahin mila hai itne sare phone calls aa rahe hain subaah se” (I haven’t had time to eat with the deluge of calls since dawn).
