The National Cricket Academy’s (NCA) VVS Laxman praised the illustrious troika and expressed gratitude for their enormous contributions to the growth of the Indian cricket team.
Indian cricket fans will never forget June 29, 2024, when the Men in Blue were able to snap an 11-year drought without winning an ICC title. In the summit match, the Asian powers led by Rohit Sharma defeated South Africa to claim the coveted T20 World Cup.
But shortly, the ecstatic supporters had to deal with one shocking announcement after another, as the legendary team of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli declared their departure from Twenty20 international cricket. The next day, Ravindra Jadeja also said goodbye to the game’s shortest format.
“To these three greats of the game, Virat, Rohit, and myself, I would like to say this: Ravindra Jadeja is a very skilled player who has made a significant contribution to the growth of the Indian cricket team. Many congratulations. “I appreciate all of their contributions to the fantastic game,” Laxman stated in a video that the BCCI shared on social media.
According to Laxman, the three provided a model for the next generation to imitate. The former cricket player for Hyderabad and India hoped they will keep performing well in ODI and Test matches.
“They provide a model for the younger generation to emulate. They played the game with an extraordinary level of pride and intensity. Even though they are no longer active in this format, I have no doubt that they will continue to practice in the same manner as they did in the past. Many congratulations on a fantastic T20 career. They will undoubtedly still be involved in the extended edition of the game.”
