On Wednesday, October 11 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Match 09 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 pits India against Afghanistan. Afghanistan chose to bat first, however after 14 overs, they were reduced to 63/3. But with their magnificent 121-run partnership off 127 balls, captain Hashmatullah Shahidi (80 off 88) and Azmatullah Omarzai (62 off 69) saved their squad.
As Afghanistan’s innings came to an end, the great Indian batsman Virat Kohli was spotted yelling at wicketkeeper KL Rahul for failing to correctly catch the ball to run out Naveen ul Haq in the 49th over. Naveen flicked a yorker towards fine leg on the second ball of Jasprit Bumrah’s over, and Kohli fielded it. As he dove to his full length to get to the striker’s end, the tailender managed to get two runs out of it.
Rahul’s failure to finish the run out was yelled at severely by Virat Kohli, who appeared to be annoyed by something.

In the second innings, Rohit Sharma becomes irrational.
As Afghanistan completed their assigned 50 overs with a score of 272/8, Naveen went on to score nine runs. With the ball, India’s Jasprit Bumrah shone, picking up 4/39 in ten overs. India got off to a great start in their second innings thanks to openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan, who put on a huge 156-run stand for the first wicket. In his subsequent innings, Rohit broke the record by scoring 131 runs off just 84 balls, smashing 16 fours and five sixes.
Kishan, on the other hand, used five fours and two sixes to score 47 off of 47. At his home stadium, Virat Kohli also maintained his incredible form, scoring a magnificent half-century (55* off 56) with the help of six fours. India won the match by eight wickets after chasing down the goal of 273 in just 35 overs.
