Usman Khawaja, a star cricketer from Australia, was late for his flight to India

Because of a delay in receiving his visa, the Australian opener Usman Khawaja was unable to make his trip to India on Wednesday.

Khawaja is now scheduled to leave for the high-profile four-Test series against India on Thursday, but the rest of the Australia squad has already gone for the series without him.

While sharing a meme on social media, Khawaja wrote, “Me waiting for my Indian Visa like… #stranded #dontleaveme #standard #anytimenow.” The caption was attached to the image.

The Australian team has used the hitter, who was born in Pakistan, in a total of 56 tests, 40 ODIs, and nine T20s. Additionally, the 36-year-old player participated in the Indian Premier League in the year 2016.

On Monday, he was given the honour of being voted Australia’s Test Player of the Year, a honour that is named after the illustrious Shane Warne.

Before heading to Nagpur for the first test match, which will begin on February 9, Australia will hold a training camp on the outskirts of Bengaluru for a period of four days. In addition to Delhi, events will also take place in Dharamsala and Ahmedabad.

Both sides have a chance of advancing to the championship match of the World Test Championship.

The Australian cricket team decided against playing a tour game in India before the important series because they anticipated that the playing conditions in practise games would be very different from those they would confront in the four tests.
