UP Warriorz did not qualify for the playoffs in the most recent Women’s Premier League (WPL) season. In spite of this, the squad made the decision to stick with its core and build around the standout players who contributed during the previous two years. Alyssa Healy, the captain, has been kept on and will be crucial to the team once more after scoring 427 runs at a strike rate of 130.48 in 17 games.
UP has also kept her national teammates Tahlia McGrath and Grace Harris. With two half-centuries in four games, the latter is in outstanding form for the Adelaide Strikers in the current Women’s Big Bash League. In 13 games for Gujarat, the all-round player has taken three wickets and scored 329 runs at 146.22.
Sophie Ecclestone, a star spinner for England, has also been kept. With 27 wickets in 17 games, the 25-year-old has been outstanding in the WPL. Deepti Sharma is one of the Indian cricket players that has been kept. The 27-year-old hasn’t at her best since she was amazing in the Women’s Hundred. In 17 games as a Gujarat representative, she amassed 385 runs and claimed 19 wickets.
