Trent Boult, the star bowler for New Zealand, has divulged the names of three batsmen he has found extremely difficult to bowl to in Twenty20 cricket. He has designated T20 legend Chris Gayle as one of the batsmen, along with Kieron Pollard and India international KL Rahul.
The 33-year-old pacer also claimed that in the shortest format of the game, batsmen tend to express themselves without reluctance, which excites him the most.
“That is a challenging question. There are plenty of batters. I’ve always found (Chris) Gayle and KL Rahul quite difficult to bowl against. Polly (Kieron Pollard) would also be included. T20 cricket is one of those games in which players are attempting to express themselves and play without fear. In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Trent Boult remarked, “It’s a pretty fascinating product.”
Trent Boult praises the quality of ILT20 cricket.
Trent Boult made a significant decision in 2022 and opted out of New Zealand’s core contract to focus on franchise cricket played around the world. Notably, since the T20 World Cup 2022, he has not played a single match for the Kiwis and has instead competed in the Big Bash League (BBL) and ILT20.
Now, speaking about the brand new league in the UAE, Trent Boult claimed that the quality of cricket in the gulf nation was excellent, as all six teams displayed extraordinary effort on the field.
“This is the difficulty you seek. You arrive at the event unsure of what to anticipate. The standards of cricket are unparalleled. There have been some outstanding performances. Each of the six sides possesses quality. “Teams are loaded with skill,” the cricketer continued.
Notably, Boult will not participate in the forthcoming two-match Test series between New Zealand and England, which is scheduled to begin on February 16. Before returning to action for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League in 2023, he is anticipated to take a vacation.
