Another game with high scores was a thrilling cricket match in which batters made two hundred. With an undefeated 124 to take the lead and assist LSG in defeating the Chennai Super Kings for the second time in a row, Marcus Stoinis was the man of the moment.
When they batted first, the Chennai Super Kings amassed an enormous 210 runs. With 108 runs without a loss, Ruturaj Gaikwad was the home team’s best batter. With just 27 balls, Shivam Dube scored 66 runs by whirling his blade around.
Once Marcus Stoinis opened his shoulders, the traditionally tight bowling of the Chennai Super Kings appeared to give way. The seasoned Australian player maintained his composure while launching a planned attack on the CSK bowlers to lead his side to a decisive victory.
Before their upcoming match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the Chennai Super Kings need to implement these three modifications.
1. The fielding approach needs to be completely revamped.
The Chennai Super Kings’ fielding was a major disappointment, much like it was in the previous game at Ekana Stadium. It was acknowledged that Deepak Chahar had given the LSG batsmen some easy boundaries in the last few overs of the match.
The last few games have seen CSK put on an astonishing showing on the field. The target was enormous, so the runs saved on the field would have been useful. The CSK’s efforts on the pitch in the last few overs were appalling, even with their squad boasting two formidable bowlers.
2. The need to lessen reliance on Matheesha Pathirana
One of the CSK bowlers’ main weaknesses was shown in the match versus LSG. The bowling unit appears to be incompetent and unable to locate wickets if Matheesha Pathirana’s danger is eliminated.
When it came to playing with the ball, Mustafizur Rahman, Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, and Tushar Deshpande appeared uncertain. The fact that none of the other pacers affected the game at all, even though the opposition was under pressure on the scoreboard, was also unexpected.
3. Have an additional spinner at home
Given that the impact player rule essentially benefits Indian players, CSK ought to consider playing an additional spinner at home. Both Ajay Mandal and Prashant Solanki have respectable home records; therefore, they can be employed.
