After his team easily defeated the Rajasthan Royals by nine wickets to secure the top spot in the IPL 2024 points standings, former Australian cricket player Aaron Finch gave his assessment of Sanju Samson’s performance.
By midseason, the Royals had already gained 14 points from their seven victories, putting them just outside of the postseason picture. Samson has distinguished himself not only as a leader but also as a batsman, helping to make the Royals’ batting lineup among, if not the most, balanced in the league.
As far as the team is concerned, he has been playing incredibly mature innings. You can see how composed the Rajasthan Royals are under duress, and I believe he’s leading the team quite well. Speaking on Yashasvi Jaiswal’s performance last night was former West Indies cricketer Brian Lara. After a quiet tournament debut, Jaiswal was the main contributor with the bat, hammering an undefeated 104 off just 60 balls with nine fours and seven sixes to declare his return to form.
As a matter of fact, he’s playing cricket, taking his time, and glancing up at the ball from the back. He doesn’t need to worry about anything because he has everything. What I adore about Yashasvi is that you take it back when you manage to get on top of the bowlers. It was expertly constructed, with some excellent cricket strokes that he handled throughout the innings. As everyone knows, if you’re chasing a high total at Jaipur and you play well throughout the innings, you’re almost certain to reach your target. I’m glad to welcome him back because he has demonstrated a great deal of maturity and responsibility.
Regarding Sandeep Sharma’s performance, Lara expressed his opinions. Despite Jaiswal’s massive ton, Sandeep, who was recovering from an injury, dazzled with the ball and stole the match. He was voted Player of the Match.

They have a strong spin assault in Krunal, who is very accurate and can play a role comparable to Jadeja, coming from their home ground, which is being relayed, in my opinion. In my opinion, they are a squad that contrasts incredibly well with CSK when you consider their heavy hitters and spinners.”
