During the Pakistani match, Virat Kohli’s six off Haris Rauf came at a critical moment, as India needed to win by 28 runs from the final eight deliveries. Seeing that the game was getting away, Kohli positioned himself to take on Rauf and hit a mind-boggling six straight down the ground on the penultimate delivery of his spell.
On the very next ball, the batting sensation ripped him for another maximum, bringing the equation down to 16 needed off 6. Ravichandran Ashwin scored the game-winning runs with the final ball as India won the exciting match. Kohli finished his inning unbeaten at 82* (53) after hitting six fours and four sixes.
Indian supporters will be hoping that Kohli maintains his incredible form in the next edition, as India kicks off their campaign against Ireland on June 5. On June 9, in New York, the cricket community will be waiting for the most anticipated match of the competition—India versus Pakistan.
Ballots will be used to distribute the tickets.
In the meantime, the tournament’s official website is now offering tickets for the massive event. Notably, the ICC developed a ballot mechanism so that every fan may watch their preferred matches in a just and equal manner. The ballot method, which allows supporters to apply for up to six tickets per match if they have access to the website, will run from February 1 through February 7.
Individuals will receive an email with payment links and details about the matches for which they have tickets when the ballot closes on February 7. The tickets will be put up for general sale starting on February 22 and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis if the payment is not made before the specified period.
